Fluke Live at The Tabernacle 10/10

Jon Fugler of Fluke

I am very pleased to be able to bring the news that Fluke will be playing a one-off special gig at The Tabernacle on the 10th of October, 2009!

Entitled “Sin and Virtue”, this is, once again, a collaboration with the incredible ditto project involving a host of film, music and performance.

It is important to emphasise that this is a *Fluke* performance. Mike Bryant, Jon Fugler and Mike Tournier will take to the stage in what is their first joint performance in many years.

What is more, unlike the previous ditto event, tickets will be on sale in the near future.

Fluke will, I believe, play either two tracks, or one track containing two elements. Certainly the two components that have been reworked are a track by Laibach – an extremely controversial band who have played a major part, albeit behind the scenes, in politicising music – and Simon and Garfunkel. I’ll leave it up to you to figure out which is sin and which is virtue (hint, it’s like S&M vs. S&G).

While this is not a Fluke concert in all their rave glory (I believe the event will be seated as films play a major part), it is remarkable to see steps like this towards a reformation of the full band and, as can be seen from their recent ditto work, Syntax’s album progress and the new material from Yuki, Fluke are still as musically strong as ever.

Of course, 2bitpie.net will be on hand to witness the spectacle! JC will, once again, be flying from Germany whilst, for me, it is somewhat less of a trek. With any luck we’ll have a host of videos, photos and interesting news after the event.

For now though, I’m just incredibly happy. To hear of all three band members getting back together to play a gig is an awesome thought.

Best of luck to you: Mike, Mike and Jon. Fluke.
