Fluke Live at The Croft: Don't Get Excited

Monday, 29 September 2008

Fluke and 2 Bit Pie ImageWell, I got a little hyped when I saw a page at Last FM that seemed to be a Fluke live concert. Needless to say, this is not the case.

We Got Tickets is also advertising this as a gig by "Fluke" and this is the reason for it appearing on the Last FM; it has been automatically imported.

The actual line-up (as detailed on The Croft's own website) is for "Flook". More information on these homonymous rascals can be found on their page at The Croft. A representative sample reads:

Flook has [sic] always been celebrated for their organic, fluid and brilliantly innovative all-acoustic fusion of Irish folklore with modern and trans-national rhythms. What really makes them extraordinary, however, is the way their sound emerges from a sixth sense, allowing band members to communicate on a subliminal level. There is an uncanny interplay between the players; each seems to respond not only to what is presently being heard but also to as-yet-unvoiced impulses.

Far out! But it's just not quite what I'd hoped for when first seeing "Fluke, live in Bristol".

comment from Martin
Just a note that, at the time of writing, the Last FM entry read "Fluke". This has now been corrected to "Flook".
